History
Founded in 1946, by its namesake Kees Van Spengen, the auction house has developed significantly over the years. Since 1995, Van Spengen has been located in its current auction building at Koninginneweg 25, opposite Hilversum’s iconic town hall designed by Dudok.
Van Spengen has always been a breeding ground for young talent; in 2012, Patrick van Huisstede and Martijn Janssens acquired the auction house and Van Spengen was further professionalized. Growth and development is still continuing, with an eye on the market and trends, quality improvements are continuously made with the goal of providing you with the best expertise, service and achieving the highest possible auction results.
With five major Art and Antiques auctions per year, we are very flexible and we are able to offer your valuable and unique pieces in the best possible way to a large international buying audience.
